Loading railway wagons manually or through slow batch methods takes hours and often leads to uneven loading across a rake. When wagons are not loaded evenly, it causes delays at the weighbridge and problems during unloading at the destination too. A rapid wagon loading system solves this by loading each wagon with a pre-set target weight while it is moving under the loading point, so the whole rake gets loaded within a short time window, not hours.
The system uses a surge hopper, a telescopic chute, and a hydraulic discharge gate that opens and closes based on wagon position and speed. As the wagon passes under the chute, material flows in a controlled manner until the target weight is reached, and the gate shuts automatically before the next wagon arrives. This is what makes it an in motion wagon loading system — there’s no need to stop the train completely for every wagon, which saves a huge amount of dispatch time for coal, cement, iron ore, and mineral loading terminals.
