A pit-type weighbridge is a set of scales used to weigh road vehicles with the platform at ground level. It is the recommended weighbridge style for non-hilly areas with limited space, such as roadways, industries, and enterprises. To build a pit-mounted weighbridge, a pit is excavated in which the weighbridge and its many components, such as load cells and indicators, are put to maintain the platform level. The platform is made up of six primary I-beams and transverse I-beams fastened together to make a sturdy framework. Because of the leveling, vehicles may readily reach it from any direction.
